Ms. Pansy Hoawarded Honorary Doctorate in Arts by Renmin University of China

Ms. Pansy Ho, Shun Tak Group’s Executive Chairman and Managing Director, was conferred an Honorary Doctorate in Arts by Renmin University of China on November 7. This prestigious honor recognizes Ms. Ho’s continuous contributions and outstanding achievements in advancing of arts, culture, and tourism sectors. She will continue to focus on cultural inheritance and innovation, building a new chapter for a cultured Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA).

At the ceremony, Ms. Ho delivered an impassioned keynote speech titled “I Know Not How It Began, A Passion Never Fades, Never Ends – My Crossed Destinies with Chinese Art.” She stated that the focus of the national cultural strategy is shifting. As a key platform for the national strategy, the GBA is actively fulfilling the mission of “jointly developing a cultured Bay Area,” promoting the creative transformation and innovative development of Chinese culture, and building a culturally influential highland with global impact. She will seek to absorb the essence of China’s outstanding traditional culture, explore pathways for integration between Chinese and foreign cultural exchange, and drive deep integration of industrial innovation and technological innovation. She also hopes to work with Renmin University of China to cultivate and bring together a cohort of exceptional talents who possess cultural understanding, integrative capacity, aesthetic sensibility, and creativity, and to build a self-sustaining and continuously developing cultural and arts industrial ecosystem, enabling cultural and artistic exchange and integration among different countries and peoples.

As a distinguished representative who is dedicated to the Country, Hong Kong, and Macao, Ms. Ho actively promotes the integration of Hong Kong and Macao into the national development agenda. As a promoter and connector of the integrated development of China’s culture and tourism industries, and a participant and builder of regional culture–tourism ecosystems, she has long dedicated herself to fostering exchanges and cooperation in the industry and business community, protecting cultural heritage, and advancing international cultural collaboration.  Under Ms. Ho’s leadership, the Group will deepen its “Tourism+” growth strategy, promote China’s outstanding traditional culture with innovative thinking, strengthen collaboration among Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao, and enhance the global influence of Chinese culture, showcasing the GBA’s strength and responsibility in this era.
